This is the fourth video in the AI After 50 series, and it takes the question everybody over fifty is asking, usually quietly.
Nine months ago I tried to replace myself. I built a chief of staff agent running a team of AI agents, laid out like the org charts I spent my career in. It collapsed. The agents couldn’t coordinate. So I quit building the org chart and built one window instead. I supply the judgment. The window supplies everything else.
That’s the answer to the job question too. The part of your job that was typing is going. The part that was knowing is the whole job now, and you can’t supervise what you don’t understand.
If you read Tuesday’s issue, this is the same point from a different chair: the humans aren’t for the work, they’re for the trust and the accountability.
Same disclosure as always, and it’s the first line of the video: that’s my AI avatar reading words I wrote.
Watch it here.
